There truly is no place like home. đ
This Christmas season, I was deeply honored to return to my home church, St. Catherine A.M.E. Zion Church, where I was a fourth-generation member, to worship, minister in song with my daughter, and share my testimony of Godâs healing power through grief.
This moment was truly full circle for me.
The same halls where my great-grandparents, grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles, and generations of my family once graced with their presence are the very same halls where we later gathered to finalize themâto mourn, to say goodbye, and to hold one another through loss.
To stand before my original church familyâin the place where I was reared and raisedâand share how God has helped heal me and continues to heal me through a lifetime of grief was profoundly sacred. Where I originally found my voice is the very place God allowed me to returnâhealed, yet still healingâto testify of His faithfulness.
This moment was truly full circle for me: worshiping where I originally found my voice and now having the opportunity to connect with my church family through a small book signing. Thatâs God, and I am truly grateful to have been a part of it.
I am deeply grateful to Voices of Praise for inviting me to celebrate with them during their Christmas concert, for creating space for worship, testimony, and restoration, and for welcoming my family with love.
