Valentine’s Day makes many of us think about love.
But real love is not just romance.
It’s commitment.
It’s humility.
It’s choosing each other when life is not “buttercups and lollipops.”
In this reel from Grief, Love & Marriage, we share something deeply personal:
Before we ever stood at the altar, we made a vow to God.
Not because everything was easy.
Not because there weren’t challenges.
Not because we were perfect.
But because we were committed to doing it God’s way — and seeing the end of His long-awaited promise.
Marriage for us has included:
- Blended family transitions
- Spiritual warfare
- Baggage from past relationships
- Growth through grief
- Learning how to merge two lives
And through it all, one thing anchored us:
We made a commitment to God first.
Grief doesn’t only show up in death.
It shows up in change.
In transition.
In merging identities.
In dying to self.
In surrendering pride.
In trusting through hardship.
And sometimes, the most beautiful part of marriage is knowing that even when life is hard — you are not alone in it.
