Celebrating Life-A Tribute To My Husband, Richard Adamson II, MSW

In my profession—and in the calling of my life—it’s my sacred assignment to talk about grief, loss, and pain.

But in a healthy balance, you cannot talk about grief, loss, and pain without also celebrating the monumental moments of life.

Today, I get the honor and privilege of celebrating my husband, Richard Adamson II, and his long-awaited, hard-fought journey to earning his Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University.

To God be the glory—great things He has done.

This wasn’t just any degree. This was a fight.
It seemed like every obstacle that could try to get in your way—did. But you, we, won the war. And no one can ever take this away from you.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve watched you evolve—growing through every season and becoming the man you are today.

I saw you at the humble beginnings of your career, championing my accomplishments—celebrating my master’s from Iona University, supporting my rise in my profession—never once complaining about your own path, but always lifting up mine.

Then, step by step, I watched you pursue your own education—from your associate’s, to your bachelor’s… and now, this incredible moment:

Your Master’s!!

This came with a price.

I’ve seen you endure persecution and injustice.
I’ve watched you be a full-time father, husband, minister of the Gospel—and work yourself to the bone.

But you did it. We did it. Together.

Sometimes we suffered. You clawed your way through—but you never gave up.

After having our Elizabeth, I suffered greatly in my body. Later, I was diagnosed with Lupus, sometimes unable to walk or move. Even in the midst of holding down a full-time job, experiencing care-taker role strain, raising a young family, being a support to your parents, and continuing to serve the community—and holding me down in the scariest moments of our marriage…

You kept your head, held tight to your faith, and stayed the course.

No one will ever really know the magnitude of what we had to fight and overcome to get here—BUT WE’RE HERE, BABY!

Richard Adamson II, I have the utmost respect for you.

I admire you.
I am in awe of your brilliance and your strength to take on the world with me and our family in mind.

I honor you for every sacrifice.
And you do it all with laughter and a smile—even when you’re crying on the inside.

I see you.

I’ve always been proud of you—but today, I’m beaming with gratitude and joy.

One of the greatest honors of my life has been walking beside you—as your wife and your best friend. I had a front-row seat.

And as one flesh, I felt every triumph, every tear—sitting up with you, sacrificing right alongside you.

Richard, you are one of the greatest men to walk this earth.
My knight in shining armor.
The absolute love of my life.

I’ve seen life come at you relentlessly—but you never dropped the baton.

You are the sunlight that walks into a room and drives out darkness.

Every tear you’ve cried, every attack you’ve endured, every sacrifice you’ve made—you never missed a beat in your stewardship of our marriage and our family of five.

I’m beaming with joy.
Because I know what it cost you.
And I know what it means.

Chosen among hundreds to carry the Fordham flag—
And I got to greet you at the front of the finish line.

You are the love of my life, the joy of my soul, and my earthly king.

Help me celebrate this monumental moment:
My husband, Richard Adamson II, graduated from Fordham University with his MSW!

“For he’s a jolly good fellow, that nobody can deny!”
The Lord is proud—and this is only the beginning.

I love you, my baby… with my everything.

Your wife,
Ke’Shawn Hill-Adamson

WE GRADUATED, Y’ALL!!! LOL!!!!
